Goalpoker Trophy
Malcolm Nicholls Limited (MNL) utilised our 3D Printing technologies and low volume manufacturing to produce 40 trophies
Goalpoker Trophy
Malcolm Nicholls Limited’s (MNL) challenge was to produce a Goal poker Trophy. MNL were supplied with a 2D sketch and an artist’s illustration of what the finished trophy should look like. From this information, MNL turned this idea into reality by generating 3D CAD.
In this instance, an STL file was required for the 3D print machines. The trophy was produced using the following processes.
The main body of the ball was produced via Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) in a durable PA nylon and then given to the workshop for MNL’s highly skilled model makers to give it that perfect finish.
The individual sections that were common parts were produced via vacuum casting from original 3D printed parts, giving a very durable part in an ABS mimic. The individual parts like the heart, spade etc. were also produced via 3D printing in SLS, and again hand finished by MNL’s crafted model makers.
Beauty & the Geek star Alex Slater presents the trophy to Ian Frazer at Goalpoker.com’s Champions League of Poker Tournament Final held at the Embassy Club on May 16, 2006, in London.
Ian Frazer became the first ever winner of the Goalpoker.com ‘Champions League of Poker’ Trophy after winning a nail-biting final in London.
Ian held his nerve to see off the challenge of nine other rivals in the plush surroundings of the Embassy Club in the capital to win one of the most significant cash poker prizes in Europe in May 2003.
Goalpoker is the only football-themed poker website in the world. It offers rival fans the chance to play against each other as well as win serious cash pots and the best money can’t buy football prizes.
