Mobil Delvac Truck Display Model
The entire automotive display model was used for exhibition purposes all around the globe. The model cab demonstrated where Mobil’s products are used around a typical truck cab, and iPads give product information about their various products.
The 800mm long automotive display model was predominantly produced via Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). Malcolm Nicholls Ltds excellent team of highly skilled traditional model makers enhanced the surface finish with gloss black coachwork and chrome effect vacuum metalizing. LED lighting was built into the cab to illuminate the front and rear lights.
Vacuum metalizing gave the front grill, front lighting, wheels, fuel tanks and rear tread plates, the chrome-plated look that was desired.
Vacuum Casting was utilised but only for the tyres [in actual rubber] and dark-tinted windows.
An extensible amount of detail went into this model, such as the wiper blades, aerials, and wheel nuts to name just a few…
The model was mounted on an illuminated plinth. The plinth contained spotlighting to highlight the cab further. It also provided holders for multiple iPads that would give product information to the visitor.
