Swiss Re “Gherkin” Building Model

Malcolm Nicholls Limited (MNL) where approached by Sir Norman Foster (Foster and Partners)

Foster and Partners wanted a model to aid their bid for tender.

MNL produced a Stereolithography (SLA) model, due to the size of the model it was built in four sections on a SLA 500 3D printing machine; this was for a visual aid not a functional purpose.

The individual section were glued and fabricated to make a fully assembly of the building.

Built in 2 days.
