FDM 3D Printing For Parkrun

We’re thrilled to share a fantastic project we recently completed for Parkrun. This global running competition, with its weekly 5k events, brings communities together and promotes a healthy lifestyle. When a new Parkrun was looking to get off the ground, they faced a common challenge: token management.

Enter Joshua Styron, a dedicated Parkrunner who designed an innovative 3D-printable token tray. He shared the design freely with the Parkrun community. Parkrun then approached 3D printing companies to bring this design to life.

As a team of avid runners ourselves, we were eager to support such a worthwhile cause. We understood the importance of Parkrun in fostering a sense of community and wanted to contribute to its success.

Collaborating closely with Parkrun, we produced four interlocking trays capable of holding up to 400 tokens. To ensure durability for the high-usage environment, we used FDM printing and incorporated clear, durable numbering for each token slot.

We’re proud to have donated these trays free of charge to the Parkrun, and we hope they’ll help make each event run smoothly for many years to come. Supporting our local communities is a core value at Malcolm Nicholls Ltd, and this 3D printing FDM project aligns perfectly with our mission.
